Rejected MPTP dockets – Why so many?
This short article is the first in a series aimed at assisting our operators achieve more efficient dealings with both credit and charge providers.
Our accounts department has undertaken a three month survey of rejected emergency MPTP vouchers in order to identify the main reasons for rejection.
The results, in order of the most common faults are :
- Failure to fill in any of the required fields, (time, date, etc.).
- Entering DC instead of Driver Card Number.
- Incomplete or hand written member card details.
A notice to all drivers from Department of Infrastructure was published in July 2004. It informed drivers that for a trial period of 2 – 3 months, small omissions or inaccuracies on rejected emergency MPTP vouchers could be amended and the dockets re-submitted. We were also reminded that dockets must be submitted to the taxis’ authorised depot.
It would seem that the trial period is fast coming to an end and that the opportunity to re-submit amended dockets will shortly cease.
The use of the EFTPOS system, of course, eradicates all of the above problems. It is understood, however, that on rare occasions the use of emergency vouchers will be inevitable.
What can we do to ensure that these vouchers are processed and paid without any undue delays or problems? Lodge these vouchers at your authorised depot, STTS Ltd.
- Ensure that all required information is entered on the voucher.
- Ensure that the Drivers Card Number is entered, not only their DC.
- Do not attempt to hand write member details.
The accounts department is happy to assist in answering any further questions on this matter.
Silver Service Drivers!
Drivers who intend to drive in the Silver Service fleet must have
a Silver Service flag attached to their DC. It will no longer be sufficient
to have only Silvercare attached to your DC, to access Silver Service work.
The Silver Service attachment can be arranged by ringing Teresa Saldias
on 84137222 and making an appointment for interview.
Green Top (Peak Service) Taxis
Peak Service (Green Top) Taxis are now on the road with a further
100 licences likely to be issued each year.
You would be aware from the material sent by the VTD that cars
operating on these licences will be distinguishable from normal
taxis by a green roof and because of that, we have registered
the name - "Green Top Taxis"
The hours of operation for these cars are between 3.00pm and
7.00am daily. They are not permitted to accept jobs outside of
those hours.
