Departments
Driver Discipline
Receiving complaints
We take complaints seriously. All are thoroughly investigated. If a complaint is received against a driver they are required to meet our personnel officers who decide on appropriate action. This can take various forms, from attending the school for retraining to (in particularly severe cases) dismissal.
Driver Training
Silver Top Taxi training school
All new applicants should apply for a Driver Information Kit from the Silver Top Taxi Training School. This contains all requisite government forms and a step by step guide to becoming a taxi driver. Applicants must submit the appropriate forms to the Victorian Taxi Directorate (VTD) who usually issue them with a Taxi Driver Skills Passport. The applicant then enrolls at the Silver Top Taxi Training School to undertake a Certificate Course in Taxi Driving, either full time or part time.
Taxi drivers returning to the industry or other qualified applicants are welcome to apply and be assessed for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

What is Cabcharge?
Financial and accounting operations
Cabcharge is an international Charge Account System which gives access to more than 13,000 cabs throughout Australia and an increasing number of international locations.
Transactions can be made using card and encoded voucher. Volume users can use the Cabcharge Taxi Management System which provides the monthly account on a statement disk, CD-Rom (both of which include images of individual dockets) or downloaded free from the internet. Silver Top staff are happy to demonstrate the Cabcharge Taxi Management System on request.
