Silver Top Taxis and JMango launch mobile booking application
Sick of hearing the engaged signal when calling a taxi on Friday or Saturday night? Can’t be bothered with Melbourne’s unreliable public transport?
Commuters can now take some stress out of getting from A to B following the launch of a new mobile application from Silver Top Taxis and JMango. Available now, the new app allows Melburnians to book a cab immediately with the click of a button.
Designed to work with most mobile operating systems, the application will allow Silver Top Taxi customers to book cabs directly from their iPhone, Blackberry, Nokia or Google phone.
Silver Top Taxis General Manger, Andrew Gilmartin, said the purpose of the service was to make life easier for patrons.
“Rather than waiting 10 minutes on the phone to book a ride, you can now simply download the Silver Top Taxi booking application to your handset and order a cab instantaneously,” said Mr Gilmartin.
JMango built the Silver Top Taxi application using its unique platform that enables rapid development and deployment of mobile apps on the leading handsets.
“We all know how difficult it can be in Melbourne on a Friday or Saturday night when you are stuck at a location and need to get home or to another party,” said JMango Chief Executive, Ilan Oosting.
“Our plan was to take the wait out of the booking process, and offer it to as many Melburnians as possible.”
JMango expects the app to be a huge success, especially among the tech savvy demographic who are often out late at night on the weekends.
“Silver Top already allow their customers to book online for a taxi, but they realised they had to get into the mobile world as the handset is now the device on which younger people run their lives,” Mr Oosting said.
“JMango is the new face of mobility. Customers will be able to book cabs from most operating systems, including Java, Symbian, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Google Android.”
Customers simply need to text 0488 131 008 to download the application to their mobile.
